  1. All threads must be thoroughly cleaned and dried at the rig prior to running.
  2. Check the inside of the tubulars for foreign material.
  3. Drift the pipe and accessories.
  4. Visually inspect the threaded Connections for any damage.

Step 3 – Running your Connection

After completing all preparation and necessary precautionary procedures, you are now ready to install and run your connection following these simple steps:

  1. Prior to stabbing, apply a light, uniform coating of the thread compound to the box connection.
  2. Lower the pipe slowly into the box connection to avoid damaging threads. True vertical alignment must be maintained during make up operation.
  3. Make up connection until shoulder torque is achieved.
  4. Complete Step 3 10 times. After making up approximately 10 joints, determine the average shoulder torque value. Shoulder torque should be higher than minimum final make up torque and lower than maximum final make up torque, as seen in the diagram below (refer to EZGO™ Connection Data Sheet).
  5. Run the remaining string at the shoulder torque value +20%.
